FYI, you can use newfs -S for this (as long as you didn't modify the
parameters, or at least if you remembered them, for the mkfs.ufs
command, you can then use this to get at the alternate superblocks and
use them to recover.)


         -S

             Sends to stdout a human-readable version of  the  super-
             block that would be used to create a filesystem with the
             specified configuration parameters.
