[OpenIndiana-discuss] Unable to label 3 TB USB disk on 151a7

The "in use" message seems to be the result of a munged disk label.
I tried a
dd if=/dev/zero bs=4096 count=100 of=/dev/rdsk/c5t0d0p0
which then allowed me to successfully run format and put an EFI label on it w/ c5t0d0s0 as ~ 2.7 TB
Unfortunately,
zpool create bpool c5t0d0
produces a message that the device does not exist. Same if I specify c5t0d0s0.
prtvtoc is able to read a proper vtoc, however no attempt to access /dev/rdsk/c5t0d0s0 works even though the label has it defined.
I'll log out of mail on this system and post the console log.
