How did you recreate the LU's?
It's been a bit since I was doing anything with LUN's (I can't recall if I tested volume migration/rollback w/vmware); but my personal documentation has a note for recreating volumes using stmfadm instead of sbdadm; specifically :
stmfadm create-lu -p guid=*LUN GUID* /dev/rdsk/*pathtozvol*
for re-creating an LU; and only use sbdadm for creating new lu's.
