[OpenIndiana-discuss] need compiler for apcupsd

I need to compile apcupsd.  It seems like a pretty easy process using 
this guide.

The part I am not sure about is getting the proper compiler setup.

When I run the configure script:

./configure

checking for C++ compiler default output file name... configure: error: 
C++ compiler cannot create executables
