Also a note about 'building inside OI/Hipster' - having a "native" package may be a benefit. In particular, non-Oracle builds might enable VNC consoles to VMs as an alternative to VRDE/VRDP (the vnc patch conflicted with oracle licensing iirc, so they wouldn't provide binaries with it built in - but they kept it in code).
