via automount, it never gets mounted at all.
hard mounted:
root at jadlaptop:~# mount mansalnfs01:/mnt/datapool2/IT /mnt
root at jadlaptop:~# mount | grep mansalnfs01
/mnt on mansalnfs01:/mnt/datapool2/IT

not sure if it helps, but attached is a section of via truss of the
automountd when accessing 2 different mount points from /home
