If you want solid info then try the illumos-developer mailing list.

Otherwise a few things you could try:

1: Read Oracles documentation on Device Drivers
https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26502_01/html/E29051/toc.html

2: Check out OpenSolaris documentation on the wayback machine

3: Have a read of Solaris Kernel Internals
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0131482092?me=&ref=olp_product_details

4: Have a look at this article
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/systems/articles/write-dev-driver-jsp-140901.html

5: Follow this thread and development of a new device driver for hints
http://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182179/2015/01/sort/time_rev/page/1/entry/22:220/20150120092654:5FF1E78A-A0B0-11E4-9E48-DCD3363CED40/

I'm not a developer but maybe some of the above will help give you a start.

I'm running into UNKNOWN categories for device drivers for my Intel
D54250WYKNUC for the:

* Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I218-V (wired adapter)

*         Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (WiFi + Bluetooth)

* Intel Corporation Lynx Point-LP USB xHCI HC (USB Host Controller)

* Intel Corporation Lynx Point-LP HECI #0 (This seems to be a
wireless adapter, but I only have the Centrino adapter in this NUC)

Any thoughts for how to proceed to porting this device drivers to Ilumos?

Regards, Marc
