Hello, Gary.
You have two ways:
1) use older build systems and build dev a9 -
https://hg.openindiana.org/sustaining/oi_151a/
2) use oi-userland to build hipster -
https://github.com/OpenIndiana/oi-userland/
I don't have much experience with the former, but with later you'll have
to tune and test packages as
new components were never checked on SPARC.
If you'll end up with some specific SPARC changes to oi-userland, we can
integrate them, but
generally without build bot which would build all supported components
on SPARC, we'll
eventually end up breaking SPARC again.
I'd choose some subset of packages which one can be interested in -
e.g., compilers, shells, some server software
and work just on those, perhaps even added components.sparc file for
tested components
similar to components.ignore which we have for x86 builds.
