I can't reproduce with my OI VBox guest configured similarly.

$ mkdir /home/jason/OpenIndiana
$ VBoxManage sharedfolder add OpenIndiana --name=OpenIndiana \
--hostpath=/home/jason/OpenIndiana

Boot your OI guest.
$ startx
# su - root
# mount -F vboxfs OpenIndiana /mnt
# cp /var/log/Xorg.0.log /mnt

Send that log as its easier to spot errors than the screenshots.
