Fcitx has been used to replace Ibus for a long time on Linux.

The BSDs have it, too:

This mean it's not Linux only software.

There currently no packages for it:

Please have a look at this.

Of course, I will be more happier if we have fcitx-unikey:

But, at least please make fcitx-m17n available:
