Yes.
I have been using the NVIDIA drivers for some time, on my laptop i use
455.38 at this moment, and i never had an issue with like the described
one. i always do it like this:
# NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-<version>.run --extract only
# cd NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-<version>
# pkgadd -d . NVDAGraphics NVDAGraphicsr
# init 6
.. for years now.
So i really don't know waht is happening to the OP.
The OP's GT 730 can do 2560 max, so it is not the loader issue here..
