[OpenIndiana-discuss] mate-screensaver disappears

I noticed a few days ago that mate-screensaver was not running on one
of my systems. Instead of showing the unlock dialogue, it was just
unblanking the screen:

    $ mate-screensaver-command -q
    The screensaver is inactive
    The screensaver is not inhibited

The system had been up for about 36 days at this point. Around this
time, WebKitWebProces dumped core. I'm assuming that the failure of
mate-screensaver caused the core dump. My web browser and my terminal
windows continue to work. The files in my home director show the timing of
events:

    $ ll -at | head
    total 11267827
    -rw-------   1 mills    staff      25844 Jan 29 15:34 .sh_history
    drwx--S---   2 mills    other        258 Jan 29 15:25 Mail
    drwxr-xr-x 45178 mills    staff      45181 Jan 29 15:21 .cache
    -rw-------   1 mills    staff    1778310 Jan 29 15:21 .xsession-errors
    -rw-------   1 mills    staff    5754470500 Jan 29 15:20 core
    drwxr-xr-x 154 mills    other        219 Jan 29 15:20 .

There are only a few syslog messages from mate-screensaver:

    $ grep screensaver /var/adm/messages | tail -22
    Jan 29 15:21:56 ryzen syslog[11025]: [ID 376116 auth.error] pam_authenticate(mate-screensaver, mills): Conversation failure
    Jan 29 15:22:00 ryzen syslog[11035]: [ID 376116 auth.error] pam_authenticate(mate-screensaver, mills): Authentication failed

There are many more error messages in .xsession-errors . Here's the
last one:

    (mate-screensaver:2528): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 15:21:35.258: g_object_ref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

I also have an mdb backtrace from the WebKitWebProces core file.

Is this problem a known bug with mate-screensaver? Is there a way I
can restart both mate-screensaver and WebKitWebProcess without logging
out? I don't want to log out because I'll lose 18 terminal windows.
