That question isn't well defined. What do you include?

I think you're referring to the cost of obtaining licenses and copyright
from all the companies who had rights in various components of
Solaris. My recollection is that was about $400m in total (but that's
just my memory of a meeting I was in more than 20 years ago).
But Sun would have done that anyway - they very much wanted
control of their own destiny, and not to be in a position where a
3rd-party could hold them hostage - so that shouldn't be charged
directly to the open source effort.
