[OpenIndiana-discuss] Video cards (or not)

Hello,
I would like to contribute to this discussion by sharing my personal experience regarding the use of NVIDIA graphics cards on illumos distributions, specifically OpenIndiana and OmniOSce.
Over the past three years, I have tested approximately twenty NVIDIA graphics cards that were supposedly compatible according to the NVIDIA Solaris drivers ported to OpenIndiana, as indicated in their documentation once installed. Unfortunately, none of these supposedly compatible cards have ever functioned, despite working perfectly under Solaris.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide a concrete and VERIFIED example of at least ONE NVIDIA graphics card that genuinely works on illumos.
Based on all my attempts thus far, it appears clear that there is no genuine support for NVIDIA GPUs on illumos.
This conclusion aligns with feedback I've previously received from other developers several months ago.
Regarding the GT 1030 specifically, I also conducted thorough tests on three different motherboards (all officially compatible with this GPU) without any success.
Additionally, I should point out that the GT 1030 does not appear in the official driver lists currently available for OpenIndiana/Solaris.
To date, the only "modern" graphics solutions I've successfully operated on illumos have been the integrated graphics units from Intel processors (HD Graphics).
Therefore, if anyone in the community has genuinely managed to get an NVIDIA graphics card working (and not just the integrated Intel HD Graphics from the CPU), please speak up!
Best regards,
Théophile.

I just got an MSI GT 1030 and that doesn't seem to work either (at least
the hipster 24.10 live DVD fails to load the nvidia 470 drivers).
:-(
A+
