The problem should have been fixed with
https://github.com/OpenIndiana/oi-userland/pull/21216
As Geoff pointed out that he had problems to build gimp-3.0 and gexiv2
needs to be rebuild to fix them.
After this update also our current gimp seems to work fine again.
