[OpenIndiana-discuss] OI 2025.04 kernel panic

Hello! I'm having constant kernel panic (seems to be nvidia related) with the latest 2025.04 OI. Spent my entire day trying to fix it, but nothing seems to work -- looks like a severe bug. Below is a more detailed description of it:
1. The install media 2025.04 only boots until the message to the effect that  "NVIDIA driver version 550 won't support your device" and hangs there dead.  (Of course, I didn't try single user boot at that stage)
To compare: install media version 2023.10 has the same driver, but that doesn't prevent it from booting successfully into GUI using VESA driver (normal Xorg behaviour).
...so I had to use the 2023.10 installer.
2. After the pkg upgrade and installation of 470 driver version  it won't start either but reboot with kernel panic.  The known problem with "wrong glx driver" loaded in the process (supposedly caused by the malfunction of openglx service) was addressed by using ModulePath in xorg config "Files" section. That way it loads the NVIDIA version of glx. So NOW Xorg.0.log shows NO error -- but the system has kernel panic and reboots nonetheless.
3. I also want to report that my previous Hipster installation from 2023.10 media + upgrade worked fine, but the HDD failed some months ago, assumably before the issue of the 2025.04 version... so the system worked fine. Xorg fine tuning was handled by xorg config all right.
