Hi all,
I've seen in the changelog for the latest OpenIndiana image that there has been the "introduction of several Rust-based utilities packaged directly from crates.io'.
I've also read here and there - not specifically in reference to OpenIndiana - that several Linux userland utilities are being rewritten in Rust, which some people see as a security hazard.
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a project called Fil-C, which aims to provide a more secure C/C++ compiler/runtime while remaining fully compatible with existing code.
So, I'd like to know what you think about having Fil-C available on OpenIndiana and/or building userland utilities with it.
This is the project page: https://fil-c.org/
Regards.
Maurilio
