fmd(8) will alert if the kernel was able to leave crash state
on the dump device specified by dumpadm(8), usually
/dev/zvol/dsk/rpool/dump, and savecore(8) was able extract that
crash dump to the specified dump directory so to be inspected with
mdb(1).

Does fmadm(8) provide any hints?
