Back a few years ago when I was updating a number of perl modules, all
of the module builds were fairly "self-contained". It was basically
the same process as any other component and followed the "Building with
oi-userland" docs pretty closely.
It looks like the perl and python module packaging process has been
changed significantly. There appears to be more automation tooling,
which is great. There's also more abstraction, though, which can make
it more confusing when you're getting started.
Is there documentation for how the perl/python module process typically
works or how it differs from other components? I've looked around in
tools and in the dev area of docs.openindiana.org, but if it's there
I've missed it.
Thanks,
Tim
