Issue #229 has been updated by Ken Mays.

Status changed from Feedback to Closed
Difficulty changed from Medium to Bite-size

Roy - this was not closed for no reason although you may keep it open if you wish. You provided a workaround that was simple for sysadmins/users to implement and be aware of. Also, the 32-bit default method is OK due to the majority of legacy deployments of Solaris being on 32-bit legacy x86 servers. I rather think of this as an RFE versus a bug.

Hi all

MySQL-51 installs well, but the default is to use it in 32bit mode, which isn't optimal, since a 32bit app won't use all registers available in 64bit, and won't have access to all the memory. Could this be switched to use 64bit mode when this is available in the OS (and hardware)?
