Yes, they have a snapshot.  But they never made a release.  This makes things a bit tricky.  I think the bigger issue is when the project developers get "lazy" and don't make a release for a long time.  I ran into that with Hercules (hercules-390.org) which hasn't had a release in over a year, yet the VCS has many useful fixes including fixes simplify Solaris builds.

I do agree that this isn't a medium priority bug, so I'm taking it down to low.

Not all software is conveniently tarred up on the internet.  Allow fetching of a specific rev from these VCSes.
