Amen! I've been using Ubuntu 14.04LTS to teach basic Unix to the widow and daughter of a friend. OMG! What a horror!

I used to admire Gnu and routinely built everything available from source. Then the people who wanted to change everything showed up.

Sorry, kids, but if you break a complex script I wrote 10 years ago, I don't want to use your stuff.
