Okky,

Can you test this out for me on your Intel 82579 NIC?

Type this command:
"update_drv -a -i '"pci8086,1503"' e1000g"

Hope that helps in the meanwhile. This will identify your card to the e1000g driver - which may work for you as a workaround.
