FWIW the HP Z400 series workstations support ECC and you can find good deals on them both on HP's refurb site and on eBay. They are certified for Solaris, so OI should not have an issue.
I bought a Z400 w/ quad core 3.2 GHz Xeon processor, 8 GB ECC DRAM, nVidia FX1800 and 500 GB of disk for ~$1100 US in January 2011 on eBay. They are very nicely built. I'm still running Solaris 10 U8 on that system.
Have Fun!
