[OpenIndiana-discuss] Fujitsu Switches Horses for Post-K Supercomputer

Hullo,
slightly off topic: in case people are interested in HPC, Fujitsu announced
a month ago that they are moving from SPARC64 to ARMv8 for their next
supercomputer:

Since power efficiency is the main issue for Exascale this somehow makes
sense.
Their SPARC64fx series used in the K-Computer (Top500 #5) was a very neat
piece of work as they developed the ACE instruction set for HPC.

Also I just found out that TIanhe-2 (Top500 #2) used OpenSPARC processors,
Galaxy FT-1500, for login nodes; compute nodes being based on Xeon + Xeon
Phi.
