/usr/sbin/ntpdate 3.gr.pool.ntp.org/usr/sbin/ntpdate 3.gr.pool.ntp.org>The date command accepts only the time  day and month, does not recognize>the year, stays on 1986.

I have the same problem since I changed my motherboard last summer.I suspect this is somehow related. As about date, you can see that

$ date -j
date: illegal option -- j
usage:  date [-u] mmddHHMM[[cc]yy][.SS]
        date [-Ru] [+format]
        date -a [-]sss[.fff]

so enter
# date 010616302018
and you are done (OK you should adjust time...). However, I prefer the following command:
# /usr/sbin/ntpdate 3.gr.pool.ntp.org
A.S.
