I tried just adding a line in /etc/driver_aliases that told the pci 
e1000g driver to recognise 8086,15bc and now the driver util says 
"misconfigured", and it shows up in dmesg as misconfigured after a 
reboot.  Clearly something I've missed.  Hints?
