with USB stick, you can exclude “bad” stick by testing it with same host but different os image on it; if then the stick will wirk, it means, the partitioning is not OK.

About partitoning; we are using GPT on USB image, but with GPT, the possible issue is that the system may want to check backup label, if it is not present, it may consider whole label bad… Possible fix there is to write the image to stick and then use GPT aware partitioning tool to write label and therefore we will get backup label to the end of the media.

If that wont do, there is other option:)
