OK I took OmniOS for a spin. Same problem; disk not found. It's clear, the
luminos disk probe routine is broken. I'd love to dig deeper. But can't (as
yet)
get OI on a disk on this MB. So that's that. I've spent 16hrs on this -- FAR
more than anyone in their right mind would. ;-)
So. Lacking any more options. I'm going to simply use my USB to SATA adapter
and install OI to disk. When completed, I'll simply plug the disk back into
the SATA port on the MB and use OI.
I'll keep everyone posted.
