 I followed Gary's instructions, but after many hours of trying different things I don't think it works except for a few system boards.

Without more of the OS loaded I can't determine if the device changes when you set RAID+AHCI or not.

Gary Mills helped shepherd the addition of the HP controller's PCI ID
into illumos so as to allow ahci(7D) to attach.

Hopefully it will just work in the next release of OI installation media.
