That's correct.  That's why I'm using Nvidia cards in it.

Totally vanilla setup.  Whatever that happens to be. I just booted off 
the USB image and it worked, or, it did work ... until yesterday's plug 
into the KVM switch anyway.

I'll check the Xorg log file.
