Hi

I have been looking at the problem with mounting a USB drive within a
Windows 11 VB. The problem appears to be related to the device
identification and is consistant across different types of OS.

When I attach my Webcam to a VB using Devices -> Webcams the webcam is
correctly identifier by the OS running within the VB instance.

However, when I attempt to mount a USB drive the drive window disappears
from OpenIndiana but never appears within the VB irrespective of the OS.
So below are the details of the USB drive taken from the USB Filter
applied to the VB instance.
If I attempt to mount the Webcam as a USB device it is not recognised by
the OS as it has an invalid descriptor, so Device -> Webcams handles the
Vendor and Product ID information correctly while Device -> USB does not.

Vendor ID        0781
Product ID       55A5
Revision         0100
Manufacturer     SanDisk
Product          Cruzer Snap
Serial No        04019125031924652027
Port             0x0008
Remote           No

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems.

The USB device returned an invalid USB device descriptor.

So does the problem exist in the 7.1.10 extension pack or is it the
Guest Additions?

Kind Regards

Russell
